Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI)- Important Biosecurity Reminders (Fall Bird Migration)
*A quick reminder to continue to practice good biosecurity for your poultry flocks as the fall migration of birds continues. There have been recent outbreaks in several states including Colorado.
Good Biosecurity Practice Reminders:
-Facility and worker cleanliness
-Limit food and water outdoors to avoid attracting wild birds
-Reduce access to domestic birds from wild populations
-Reduce visitors to poultry areas and equipment
-Be aware of wild birds when hunting and what to do if you suspect illness
-Implement good biosecurity practices including isolation and cleaning of facilities, clothing, and equipment when purchasing birds from marketplace or swaps or retail farm stores
