AgFest- WRAP UP!!!

AgFest for over a 1,000 fifth graders was held in the eastern half of Colorado (North and South) from April 23-May 4 at locations: La Junta, Lamar, Tinidad, Hugo, Brush, and Holyoke. AgFest is an interactive one-day program for students to learn about Agriculture and it’s correlation to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Hands-on learning allows students the opportunity to connect agriculture and it’s importance to society, individual consumers, and the economy (from farm to store and everywhere in between).
Students rotate through 10 stations involving:
-Dairy Production
-Global Positioning Systems
-Embryology
-Water Quality & Erosion
-Microbes & Bacteria
-Plant Science & Biotechnology
-Pollination & Honey Bees
-Power & Simple Tools
-Range Land Ecology
-Beef (Meat Cuts & By-products)
